Dogs seem to be interested in pleasing and taking care of you. They give that look like what are we going to do next. Unlike cats who often look like they're thinking "what are you going to do for me next".

All three answer so far are right on the mark. When you take a cat into your home it is on the cat's terms. A dog, on the other hand, returns all the love and attention you give him ten fold.

Because they crave human companionship. They want to be with there humans all the time. They want to please them as well.They are loyal.More in tune to the human needs.
