Ok so about 5 weeks ago we had to put my older dog to sleep. Now when i come home the house is so quiet and it scares me to come home cuz there are a whole crap load of murders in my city. (yeah its kinda weird cuz they all show up at once) ok so tonight i asked my mom if we could get another dog adn she said yes but then she said no because she doesnt know how our cats would react to another dog. I told her we would never know unless we tryed! And she just gave me "the look" but i know my cats will do fine with another dog cuz they are always fine when other peeps bring their dogs over...how do i get my parents to get another dog? i need like some very persuasive lines to get them...normally i could think of something but this time im stuck...HELP ME!!!!!

i dont think they are worried about the cats hurting the puppy but being territorial cuz they r all males and they pee on EVERYTHING when they feel betrayed...

it may take them a little bit to get over the death of your other dog, but if you can convince them to bring you to the animal shelter and show them how many need homes!! Show them statistics of animal making it out alive of a shelter and maybe they will want to save one or two. good luck

A cat wont hurt a puppy. It knows its a baby.
A dog is good for children, it teaches them a lot about love, loyalty, companionship.
Are you willing to help with this new dog and feed it and make sure it always has fresh water? If you didnt help before your mom is not gonna believe you will help with a new one. It also has to be house trained. Try proving your serious by offering to do extra chores you dont normally do.

You could bring one home and once they see him, they'll fall in love and want to keep him. Or at least, that's the plan. It's always worked for me.
