I see this a lot and it drives me crazy. People get dogs and leave them tied to a tree outside. What is the point of getting a dog if you are just going to ignore it?

My 3 year old Jack Russel, Bruce, has been favoring his left from paw for almost a week now. He also spends a fair amount of time licking it, especially on the pad. My boyfriend and I have looked it over numerous times and we've only seen a little bit of redness and a slight bump between the top of the big, central pad and all the other little "toe" pads. We've been considering taking him to the vet, but money is tight right now and I was wondering how long we should give him, just in case it's only a small cut that he can heal himself, before we take him in. Because I'm also afraid of a splinter or a piece of glass that could become infected.

I have a very poorly behaved dog that we have had for a while now, and I am in desperate need of a good bark collar. Ideally, I would like something that would automatically emit a shock/sound/citronella, but I would also like to be able to manuallly activate it if he did something bad.

She was only 9 mos old. I swear it was one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I still can't get it out of my head. It wasn't like she just layed down and died. I was up with her all night while she kept running into things and falling over and throwing up blood all over me. She kept trying to jump up on me and she would fall backwards. I knew something was wrong but by morning time she was comatosed and by the time I got her to the vet It cost me 300 dollars to let her die. They said for her size she had to of drank over a half a gallon of Antfreeze. I just don't understand why someone would do this. WHY?

Last night my dog didn't seem to be feeling well and went off to sleep without us. This morning I noticed she will not wag her tail and has trouble sitting. Any ideas? She doesn't seem to be in pain otherwise. Since it is Sunday, I wanted to check around before calling emergency vet services unnecessarily.

I have been reading many post about dogs and seeing what other people have to say and people like this make me sooooo angry!!!

one person writes:

The BBC news item below (Jan 2007) tells how a Pit Bull terrier savagely killed a 5 year old girl and almost killed her grandmother. The dog was owned by the little girl's uncle.

These dogs are banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs act of 1991. The Pit Bull is the FIRST dog to be specifically identified under this law and it is an offence to breed them or to sell them. The clear intention of the law is to rid the UK of all Pit Bull Terriers.

However you try, you cannot justify the risk to children. It would be better to rid the world of these dogs than to have one more little girl die in this horrific way. Enough said....I hope.

DONT YOU WISH YOU SHOULD EXTERMINATE AND RID THE WORLD OF PEOPLE LIKE THIS

ladies and gentlemen you cant always listen to everything you read and see on the news....its there to get a reaction.

A Beaglier dog is a beagle and King CavalierSpaniel mix. They are sold in Australia, but I can't find a breeder in the U.S. If you have one of these dogs, how did you find it?

I have a 7 mo old dachshund and I've been noticing blood spots on the couch where she normally sits. I checked her and I can't tell for sure if she is in heat. I don't think she cut her paw or anything, I would have noticed. Is this possible for a dog this young? I do want to breed her, but should you wait until they are older? If so, is there a certain age that is recommended to start breeding?
