As long as you are feeding a high quality food, she is eating at least some, and drinking, I wouldn't worry about to much just yet. She's just had a big change and that can affect appetite.

Congrats on your new beagle, and thank you for going to a rescue. :)

Oh, a Beagle, one of my best pets was a Beagle. She sounds like she is adjusting to her new environment. Especially the fact that she wants to be cuddled, she wants to be sure she isn't going anywhere else. The loss of appetite could be due to her new home. Maybe you changed her brand of food from what she was fed at the rescue center. Ask them what she ate there and that could be your answer. Just continue to monitor her appetite and she should adjust soon. If not you can also ask you local vet for some pointers. You did good, our puppy was a rescue too!!

It doesn't matter if it is a brand new puppy you bring home or an older dog, it may take a few days for them to adjust to their environment. Especially since she was a rescued dog she may have some hesitations being in a new home. Just give her all the loving that she deserves, set the food out for her and she will eat when she is ready... TRUST ME.. mine wont stop eating now!!!! Good luck and have fun with her

So how long have you had her? If it has been just a couple of days you have to remember that she needs a week or two to fully adjust. I'd also keep her on a diet, just a cup of food morning and night (speak to your vet about the proper rations for her). Overeating can lead to diabetes and a life time of insulin shots twice a day. I've been there, I adopted an older black lab who was hugely fat. Although I dropped her weight, it was too late...she is on insulin and has been for four years now.

I'm sure you can attibute her appetite to her gettin adjusted to her new home. Consult with your vet to determine the right amount of food and use this period as new start for you puppy to eat a healthy diet 8)

I have a beagle bassette mix. She didn't eat much the first couple of days. We did get her to start eating by putting a little fat and gravey in her food and now all she does is eat.

Change in environment will do that, and change in food. Just be patient and she should come around.
