I have a friend who is a HUGE corgi breeder and really wants me to "invest" in them, yet I own cats and have small kids. I noticed that they dont'seem to like either very much. Need some advise.

However, We babysat a full size Yorkie and she was wonderful for us. We have another friend whom can get us linked to a breeder as well. WE have no intention of ever showing or breeding, so a purebreed is just for our sake.

Our dog is 14 and HW+, so I can't have another dog until she passes. Its not fair, she is a good dog, just too old to "go through" harsh HW treatments.

Need some owner advice on the possible puppy choices and travel companions.

I have a 2 yr old male white german shepherd and a 5 yr old male lab/husky mix, both of which I've had since young puppies. The german shepherd is mine, the lab is the hubbys. They've had their spats, but normally get along. I went in the hospital Jan. 10, '07 for 2 weeks for surgery, after I get home these 2 dogs begin fighting. Zuess, the shepherd, is much larger than the lab, Louie, so Louie is getting injured. Since I've been home from the hospital, the fighting has not stopped. My question is, is this a dominance thing or what and what can we do about it? At this point, they cannot both be in the house at the same time unless my husband is home. Help!

My 8 mth old Lab gets away occosionally and runs around the neighborhood. Yesterday he got bumped by a car and thank God he is perfectly fine. I am concerned that sometime it will happen again and he will not be fine. We normally watch him when he is outside doing his duties; but sometimes he gets distracted by other dogs and runs off with them. Does anyone know of a way to make dogs afraid of the road or streetwise as I have heard it called? Thank you.

I am most definetly sick of those stupid designer dog breeds anyone could breed two dogs and call it something Oh let me breed a shi tzu and a bull dog and call it bull ****. I personally think they are so gay. I mean they are cute, but now people are trying to get them registered. Its just creating stupid pandamonium. Those dumb labradoodles are selling for like 800 bucks. They are not even pure bred. What a rip off. I also hate people that say tea cup chihuahua, or silver lab. Its all just a scam. The only real dog breeds are the ones the AKC recognizes and I think we should keep it like that. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I have two dogs, a husky mix and a mini tzu-shu. The bigger one, 70lbs now thinks HE is a lap dog and will try to curl up in a lap when ever he is feeling tired or cuddly. He can actually do this with my 6'3" boyfriend. Anyone else out there with a BIG lap dog???

I know my standard around here is 8 weeks, and I've heard that they need those 8 weeks to learn alot from their mother and siblings.

It turns out that a breeder by me had pick of the litter from a breeding she studded. She received the puppy today at ONLY 4 weeks. I want to buy the puppy, but am afraid that being away from both the mother and siblings and the mothers milk are a big problem... am i right?!!!!

She is telling me I can have the puppy at 7 weeks.

Please help!!!

As I stated, Cooper is 12 and is very fat! He's a 2 family dog. Meaning that my neighbor feeds him treats all the time. During the day, he spends as much time at her house as mine. He is an active dog, playing fetch and chasing squirrels. He caught one this morning as a mater of fact! He didn't kill it, just caught tail fur. Anyway, Lately when he is laying on his favorite chair, he kind of whines, not loud or yelps, just a soft whine. He also shakes a little bit. I have felt his joints and he does not wince or pull away. He also does not seem at all bothered by it, I just want to be sure he is ok.
