I am most definetly sick of those stupid designer dog breeds anyone could breed two dogs and call it something Oh let me breed a shi tzu and a bull dog and call it bull ****. I personally think they are so gay. I mean they are cute, but now people are trying to get them registered. Its just creating stupid pandamonium. Those dumb labradoodles are selling for like 800 bucks. They are not even pure bred. What a rip off. I also hate people that say tea cup chihuahua, or silver lab. Its all just a scam. The only real dog breeds are the ones the AKC recognizes and I think we should keep it like that. Does anyone else feel the same way?

There are many breeds that AKC does'nt recognize that have been around for ages.
Take the Cervatz for instance.AKC does'nt recognize the breed but the King of Rumania presented one as a gift to Count Dracula to show just how far back this breed dates. So saying that if AKC does'nt recognize it then it's not a true breed is just silly.
AKC now recognizes a cross between a mastiff and a rottweiller and I wonder how long it will be before they recognize every mutt you find at your local shelter.
I do agree with you in that these designer breeds are just getting out of hand tho.
I think it's pathetic that some rich ***** puts a mutt in a purse and carries it around and everyone wants one!Yet they all frown upon the
people who buy pitbulls cos they'll look cool walking it down the street. There's no difference in my opinion.
People who breed these little dogs are no better in my opinion than the low-lifes who fight pitbulls because they're just greedy bastards out to make a quick buck. It's truly sad that they're getting it.And sadder still that most of these mutts end up abandoned in a shelter because the coolness wore off when the people realized that the dog needed far more care than just to be carried around.

I agree with you about the Labradoodles - I happen to not like the looks of a Poodle, and love the Labs - so to me they are messing up one of my favorite breeds by giving it curly hair!

However, I just got a Border Collie and was reading up - I didn't realize that the Border Collie wasn't recognized by the AKC until 1920s - and it was in the misc breed category until 1950s - the Border Collie obviously is a working breed - any one who watches these dogs can say that. So, in thinking about breeds - it must be somewhat of an evolution for new breeds to be created, and there is really only one way to do that - breed two specific breed together, that way you know how to be consistent to create the new breed.

So despite me not liking some of the new breeds - I guess this is just another part of evolution. As far as them costing $800 - 'breeders' will charge what people will pay - law of economics.

I too am absolutely fed-up with these "designer breeds". Most of these breeders are only concerned with mixing breeds to come up with cute names. What happened to breeding to better the breed, breeding in strengths and breeding out faults?? It really also peeves me when breeders try to up their prices by advertising a "tea cup" or "rare color". Consumers need to educate themselves before making such an important purchase. How much time does it take to go to the AKC website to read a breed standard???

Designer dogs are only created for the idiots that are spending money on them. They are possessions, fads and image makers. The buyers don't care that they are from poor quality sires and dams. They are the "I want it" dog of the uneducated spoiled dumb asses of today.
You saw the demand for a Paris Hilton dog...just watch how many stupid followers now start shaving their heads because Britney Spears did it.

Totally fed up with it. It is not a designer dog or a hybred, it's a mutt plain and simple.

Why spend your money on something that's trendy when there's thousands of dogs in shelters (most of them "hybreds") that need good loving homes. There's also thousands of purebred dogs that need homes too.
