I dont know what to advise my friend. She has a dog called Bately and hes 5 years old. He was a rescue dog which she rescued from the vets she used to work at. He had been badly treated and was beaten up. He is a boxer cross (sorry dont know the other dogs name) and is a pretty big dog. My friend has recently split from her ex and is now living alone in a smaller house just her and the dog. That dog is her life she loves him as if he is her baby but there is a problem. He is very jealous and if she has people over he sometimes bites people. This used to be a playful nip but now he has biten two people and drawn blood. He fine with me luckily and people he knows and trust really well but strangers are at risk! She has asked me what i think she should do, keep him or put him down? Although deep down i think she should put him down as it may get worse i know this is going to break her heart and she will then be by herself in her house. What should i advise her?

Why is my puppy not potty trained. after being outside the other day he came inside jumped on the couch and peed on it then proceeded to jump on the floor and finish it there, right after being outside for 20 minutes. I've had plenty of puppies before but none as awful as him. Seriously considering putting him up for adoption, I cant take it anymore, any advice?

I know my female Chihuahua was 9mths when she came on heat. But is there an age / time to know for male pups?
My friend has a Tibetan Spaniel who she wants to breed... He seems to 'want to' ,-) & his testicles have dropped, but I dont know if they have fully dropped or if there is an age to know this, etc.. Can someone help her know when he is ready to stud??
At the moment he is 9mths.
Thank you all!! :)

She has recently begun drinking a lot, and I've also noticed her panting frequently when she has been inactive. She is overweight, but I am worried about her. Am I being paranoid?

I can't believe people on here still ask questions about buying Pit Bulls despite what they do. Give £1000 to a criminal (breeder) and then risk losing the dog.

Hey whoever reads this. Im thinking about getting a Shar pei. I have had dogs all my life apart from the past few years where I have been living in apartments and units. Would I still be able to get a Shar pei to live peacefully in an indoor environment.

I have just heard that they may fret if left alone for long periods of time. I ask this because he/she will be left in the small yard/garage while I am working. Are they quite happy in small yards as long they get exercise when I get back from work?

My boyfriend and I just got a puppy about 3 weeks ago. We learned pretty quick it is pretty hard to keep him from using the potty on the floor and chewing on everything including me. So we built a pin outside, it is big and its got a coverd area. my boyfriend says he is fine outside at night that he is covered with hair. I feel bad because I feel like he might get sick or be suffering because he is cold. Fur can only help so much right??

I had my female dog spayed 11 days ago. The operation went fine and on that side of things the vet is more than happy with her. Unfortunately she keeps licking her tummy (her stitches are out) and is giving herself what looks like a 'nappy rash', and I think some of it is to do with the fact she was shaved. Has anyone any tips or could anyone advise . Thanks

I have a mixed breed Sheppard chow mix and he has been acting really weird. We let him out earlier tonight and now he DOES NOT want to stay in the house. It is 14 degrees outside and he does not respond to me when I called him to come in. He is a VERY obedient dog normally and mostly wants to be inside. Please help. THanks

My friends dog just had puppies and one is blind and deaf. It is a double merle and it is only four weeks old. I will get it when it is 10 weeks old. I already have four dogs and they are taken care of just as good as family members. However if i get the puppy I will be living in an apartment with my boyfriend and my other dogs will be living with my mother. If anyone has raised a blind of deaf dog please give me some opinons. Otherwise this woman is going to kill the puppy. =(

I just posted Pregnant dog and got some mean answers First off my dog is purebreed Irish Red and White Setter, second, we want her to get pregnant. "Echo" is a theraputic dog for my epileptic brother. He is also slightly autistic. My brother has an obsession with dogs, he knows all breeds and all their details. Echo being pregnant would be such a wonderful experience for him. Of course we would keep the puppies!!!! Why would you people assume we would just give them up.Geeesh.. some people need to learn to answer the question , not pass jugdment. BTW, we also have 9 other animals all fixed and saved from the shelter!!

I am very good about picking up after my dog, even in my own yard. But how do you handle it if you're walking your dog and it gets diarrhea? It can't be picked up in a bag, so what is the proper way to handle this? Leave it? Cover it with leaves?
