Dogs - February 2007

I am getting a rat terrier mix but I am horrible with sizes. I was thinking I should get a medium but I'm not sure and I want her to be comfortable.

My 12 week old puppy pees and poos everywhere! I knew I could smell it somewhere yesterday. Well, she did a big poo right on top on the vent, and when the heating goes on, well you can guess.
Anyway, at night she's in her crate and the next morning she's covered in poo. She does at least 2 mushy ones and rubs it everywhere on her like she doesn't care at all.
I decided to feed her a bit earlier than usual, at 5pm but still no change. I feed her twice, in the morning and again in the evening about a cup full each time. Any advice guys?????

I took my puppy to the vet for his vomiting again. He evaluated also the lump on his back. He gave him prednisone and medication for the vomiting. Not an x ray , not an biopsy. He said than can be a mast cell tummor, but his only six month. he will evaluated my baby in five days to see the next steps.
I donth know what to expect.

ok I ask how to tell if your female is in heat well got that and yes she was ok now i need to know after she mates do they get PG right away like us or does she wait till after she gose out of heat I have seen puppys born and all that I just never Had a female dog go into heat and yes she will be getting fix after thease puppys are born I know she was mated yesterday I was tring to keep my male away from her but he got out of his pin and into her they was out haveing there playtime and I looked out to check on them and they where well it was to late I know it take like 63 days to have the puppys I just didn't know if that was from time breed or from end of heat thank you for your help

i have a 15 week old puppy and he eats his own poo sometimes i tell him he is bad and he will not do it for a while and then he starts up again. some one told me you can get a spray or tablet to put in to his food that wil stop him....any one know what it is??
i know it sound pukie but all dogs do this so im told!!!!!! any one else have this problem.......

Is it a good idea to get a dog when we all leave at 8am and go home at 8pm, 5 times a week? is there such thing as low maintenance breed of dog?

i would love to have a dog since im missing mine back home and working overseas is too lonely without a pet.

I have two pups and one is full blood Yorkie, thats my female, and the other is half Yorkie is my male any ways

the male keeps throwin up everything, and the female is beginning to do it too. My male has little yellow stuff almost like a discharge coming from his you know,

But they are both very active puppys they play a lot, but my friend came over and said I should take both of them to the vet cus it could be parvo, but she said that they are very active so it might not be parvo, and the people we got our little male from, said that the yellow stuff, was from an infection, her other dog had it too.

When it comes to people and kids. BUT once last night and once 4 months ago he gave 3 warning barks and snaps for no reason to 2 small children one was my 1 year old nephew.The other was a 3 yr old girl that wanted to pet him. What would cause him to do this?

I have a yellow lab and I know labs are known to have hip and joint issues. She is only about 2 and half now, but sometimes it looks like it takes a lot of effort to get up. She is a pretty active dog. I was just wondering if it would be ok to give her the senior dog food because it says it helps joints. Does anyone know if you can do that or have you tried it?? Thanks.

can anyone help me i have a litter of 4 puppies
which are now 2 weeks old the little girl was born black but straight away in the light I could see silver but then today i took her out side to have a look and she has got heaps of brown in her coat so how do i tell if i have a brindle or some other colour and what would you sell a brindle female miniature poodle for without papers but will be vac,vet checked and wormed the mother is choc brown and the father Apricot thanks

my aunties dog was stolen in bishopsworths rd, bedminster down bristol last week.
she's a light tan chihauhau with white paws and a darker strip running along her spine. Her name is prim and whoever has took her is gonna lose her and she is on heart medication.
my auntie and her friend are both pensioners and my auntie lost her husband last year and her friend is battling cancer.

without stopping in the middle whatsoever? I run moderate speed. He seems to enjoy it. But am worried about his hips? Could doing this everyday affect his hips and cause hip dyslepsia?
