When my puppy was unwell, we gave her boiled ham, boiled chicken and rice. She wasn't too keen on the rice, but we mixed it with natural yoghurt on the vet's instructions.
Much better than cottage cheese.

Often if a puppy has been on antibiotics it will have a weak stomach culture and cottage cheese is an excellent food to jump start the pup. Most of the time puppy's will do well on a rice cereal and chicken baby food. If the puppy shows any signs of dehydration Pedialite works well.

Puppies can't digest that harsh of a cow's milk product. Try some yogurt but only a teaspoon with some, boiled ground turkey or chicken (drain any fat) and brown rice. Mix the ground chicken or turkey with the cooked brown rice. Give this mixture a cup full at a time. Mix 1 teaspoon of yogurt in with the mixture.
That's as bland as it gets.

A bland diet for dogs is boiled hamburger, which is then rinsed and drained. Add it to boiled rice for some bulk. Boiled chicken might be ok, but many dogs are allergic to chicken, so I'd just stay with the beef until the pup's digestion is more normal.

It'll go straight through him. He may have a far better set of olfactory fibres than you but he has less taste buds than you, he will not bother about bland food as long as he likes the brand. A little cheese, now and then, in okay, but a puppy has a sensitive digestive system.

Yes and he will love it. You dont say why he is on a bland diet but yes it is ok. If we humans eat to help us slim etc., it is perfectly good for the dog. I cant resist this babe but some above says they cant stand milk in there digestive system and to give your dog yoghourt. Where do they think yoghourt comes from but milk.I have never heard such a lot of rubbish in all my life with silly answers you have got. Ex breeder.

If it is because your pup has been on antibiotics then rather give him intestinal flora that you generally buy at pharmacies. Dogs digestive tracts is not the same as humans so try not to feed your dog what you eat but rather a good quality dog food that you buy at the vet. Dry food is generally better because it keeps their teeth clean and it has all the nutrients your dog needs. Human food is usually too salty. If you must give treats give cooked beef bones for them to chew on. Dogs generally get runny tummies because we feed them human foods.

Rice is the base of most special diet commercial dog foods. Call your vet to be sure exactly what you should be feeding your pup. Most vets have specialty pet food for sale. It may be worth it to purchase some to be on the safe side.

i would give him rice and hamburger meat that's been rinsed in water to get rid of the grease. most dogs don't take to milk products too well. we normally get a special canned food the vet gives up for bland diet.
