My chocolate lab keeps getting into the trash cans and making a horrible mess. I know some dogs do this, but she's 8 and I don't understand why she's beginning to do this. I'm a stay-at-home mom and am home a lot. But when I go out for an hour, she's gotten into a trash can and sometimes my children's diapers (icky). Help!!!!

(Not up to standard in appearance)

For example according to breed standard a boxer should not have more than 1/3 white coloring as the white coloring has been bred out of them by design. Is it ok with you that white boxers or too much white boxers are sometimes put down. (May I add that they are not albinos). This is done for the "betterment of the breed", a phrase we see a lot on this forum.

If you wanted to purchase a certain breed of dog for a companion/pet, which way would you go and why?

Both breeders have AKC registered puppies, which have had vet exam and vaccinations to date. The family breeder is asking $500 and the professional breeder is asking $1500. All the puppies are nice looking dogs.

Help!I have a female pomeranian who is a little over a year.I take her out regularly, as well as keep her in a crate.Despite this she still urinates in the house atleast once every other day.She's a good dog otherwise and I would like to let her stay out during the day.I have tried everything I can think of from crates to schedules.I yell at her when I see her doing it and it is as if it doesn't even phase her.Are there any other methods I can use to help her understand it is not acceptable behavior?

Hi, i got a new 1 bedroom apartment and will eventually want a dog. Since its a small apartment it really wouldnt be fair for a large one. But i also want the dog to possibly scare away any possible intruders. So my question is, What is a good, small, not so loud to annoy neighbors, dog? Also, a short haired dog. I hate fur all over my belongings.

I have an 11 week GSD pup, that's just started to go for walks on a leash now that he's fully innoculated. Thing is, he doesn't like it. He's always lagging behind and whimpers every now and again. Sometimes he sits and just won't move at all. And will only do so with much coaxing with a treat. Is my pup abnormal? I expected him to be pulling on the leash. Not me having to slow down to he can keep up with me.
The only time he does speed up and start pulling is when he see's home.

I have to get rid of my dog. Is there any place I can give him away without them killing him?

He is a long haired chihuahua. He is very well mannered. VERY SMART! I just am at school all day and he is left alone. Which isn't fair to him at all. Poor baby. I love him , but he needs more attention

I have a Sharpei mix /2 yrs old that I just adopted a month ago and this is her fist time expercing a thunderstorm with me and she is shaking and panting alot.I didn't realize it earlier but a friend had leaked a little antifreeze nearby and I hope she did'n t lick that.please tell me that not what it is. I looked it up but the signs aren't the same as side affects from antifreeze,Please let me know asap

And quite a few more..... some dogs are pretty intelligent imo - I don't know how the Chinese considered them just as food to eat.

I just got my golden retriever spayed yesterday 30 hours ago. I brought her home last night and she was very out of it. Here are the things I'm concerned about:

1. They did not send her home with any pain medications.
2. She has been vomiting yellow bile for 24 hours.
3. Diareahh with a small amoutn of blood in it.
4. Just very lethargic after 24 hours.

I've called my vet. They closed at 12 oclock today so I can't hear anything till tomorrow. Do you think this is normal. What to do? I feel so bad for her, she seems so depressed and sick

I have an eight week old half american bull dog half husky puppy, and hes obsessed with chewing on people and clothes. Hes like wearing shackles when I try to walk, and I have red marks all over my arms where he bites me. Ive tried gently spanking him but he thinks Im playing and just bites more. He does this the ENTIRE times hes awake.

My dachshund is seriously overweight. I have tried every thing to make him lose weight! I have changed his food into reduced fat (I have tried many brands). I but he always finds food! He begs and gets nothing and eats my skinny poodle’s food! He has even gotten so hungry he tipped over the trash and at scraps from it! He always wants food. He never seems to get full!

I have an AKC German Shepard who is 8 mos old. We had not intended to breed him, but have not yet gotten him neutered. He comes from a very good European bloodline and has excellant temperment and disposition. We have a friend who has a 2 1/2 year old Female ACK GSD and is very interested in breeding with out dog. When is he old enough to breed and is there a risk to the puppies health is he is bred too young?
