Chocolate is poisonous to dogs. The link below says that if your dogs ingested baker's chocolate or large amounts of milk chocolate, that it could cause problems. See the following symptoms of Chocolate Toxicity in dogs:
Hyper excitability
Hyper irritability
Increased heart rate
Restlessness
Increased urination
Muscle tremors
Vomiting
Diarrhea
If you are real worried, you may want to call your vet. My cocker spaniel ate a whole bag of Hershey's Kisses, and had tremors. The chocolate did affect her health. Good Luck.

I had a large German Shepherd dog that ate a whole bag of miniature candy bars, wrappers and all. The Vet said she should be fine because of her size and that if she were a smaller dog or ate BAKER'S CHOCOLATE he would be worried.
An acquaintance of mine lost her Maltese dog at Christmas because he got into some dark chocolates she had on her table and ate several of them. Dark chocolate is more toxic that milk chocolate.
Here's a site that describes chocolate toxicity in Canines and what to look for. Also what constitutes a toxic amount. If you think you need to be concerned after reading this contact your Vet or an emergency clinic.

It is true that chocolate is bad for dogs. Some dogs it doesn't affect in smaller amounts.
Chocolate has trace amounts of arsenic in it, which dogs are very sensitive to. To some specific breeds it is fatal.
My dog used to eat chocolate like any other treat and she had no adverse affects, she lived until she was 17 years old. So there might not be any problems for your dogs, but you still will want to take them to the Vet ASAP.
They can pump their stomachs or give them something to make them puke which will get the chocolate out of their body.
I hope things turn out well.

I wouldn't worry too much, if this is a one off. If your really concerned take your dog to see a vet.
Yes human chocolate is dangerous to a dog, if it keeps eating it. It will kill it eventually! Next time make sure food like that is out of the way. Also why don't you teach your dog not to steal food. That is a very logical step.

Make sure they throw it up or otherwise get it out of their system. My dog ate a valentine's chocolate the other day, complete with foil, and was okay, but not all dogs are affected the same

He could be high-quality that's a super canine. there is not a ton of chocolate chip cookies and because he's super i don't think of it fairly is going to harm him. I had a small canine that ate an entire Hershey's bar and not something got here approximately. If it makes you experience extra useful you are able to take him to the vet yet I doubt something is going to take place.

dark or bakers chocolate is the worst, but chocolate of any kind should be kept out of the reach of your pets. Some chocolate chip cookies aren't going to kill your dog. Be more careful..

Call an emergency vet with the amount of cookies he ate, and the time frame he ate them in. They will tell you what to do. And, yes, chocolate is toxic to dogs if they eat enough of it. Get off of here and call them now. Good luck!

This is VERY true. Chocolate is like poison to them. And it can really really hurt and possibly kill your dog. Make sure it's okay, and if not take it to the vet ASAP and make sure it doesn't get a hold of chocolate again.

depends on the size of your dog...but if he is a med. to lg. breed he should be okay... may have a little tummy trouble for a day.... I'm sure your dog will be fine, just keep a watch on him for tonight.... my black lab ate a whole choc-cake by himself... hey was as happy as a clam, didn't affect him at all.....
