Coprophagia is a common condition in which animals will eat feces. It can be caused by curiosity, hunger, malnutrition. If your dog is a female it may be acting maternally since momma dogs eat their pups poop for the first couple weeks of life.

It's usually caused by a lack of something in their diet. I would suggest changing the food you're feeding your dog. When I worked in a petstore, customers would come in with the problem, and we'd suggest changing the dog's diet, usually putting the dog on a good food such as Nutro stopped the problem.
If changing the dog's diet doesn't help, seek a vets opinion.

well, it is a normal thing. not all dogs do this, and there are
many reasons why they say dogs do this. Some say it's
because they don't like it there, so they eat it, and others say
they just like to eat it. It becomes a habit. But there are
products you can buy to prevent the dog from doing that.
Just check out you pet store and they will give you something
to help you with this problem.

Yeah coprophagia is pretty common really - and yes disgusting. If your dog is eating other dog's poop it can be dangerous.

Please ask your local vet about this. From what I understand, when a dog does this, something is missing nutrient wise in his diet. Take care.
