Actually I've heard that dogs have evolved to be so emotionally attached to humans, that they go through trauma when they see humans in distress, that they've become incredibly attached to humans.

Absolutely. I had a puppy once who ate my couch while I was gone for 4 hours. When I got home, he wouldn't "speak" to me. You might want to check if your puppy got into something that might be making him sick as well.

Playing with him and holding him will help to re-establish your connection, but I'd take him to the vet if you haven't seen him eat anything by tomorrow. Best way to tell if he's eaten, is to limit his food. If it's gone, then he's eating, if not, well, you know what that means, take him to the vet and get an xray.

Puppy's often become destructive and have separation anxiety when humans are not around. Puppy's require a lot of time and attention, it would be in the best interest of the puppy if you could spend as much time with him as possible.

yes! dogs can become very distressed and depressed when they are ignored. you need to give the puppy some extra TLC to makeup for it. luckily, they forgive easily. but please dont neglect your dog, they take that very hard. It can even lead to bad behaviors and aggression just to get some attention

I hope you don't mean that you left your puppy alone for two days. I hope this wasn't the case. Honestly, some people are just too irresponsible to have pets!

It's possible that he feels rejected or forgotten. You need to show him as much attention as possible when you have time.
