Papillon. They have less genetic health problems, are one of the most intelligent breeds of all dogs, and are THE most intelligent toy dogs, they're easy to housebreak, and they don't have the demanding, aggressive, nippy attitude that chihuahuas have. They're sweet, quiet, playful, and loving.

Either one is fine but if you have or plan on having small children around, I wouldn't recommend a Chihuahua. They are high-strung, nervous dogs and tend to bite when children are just playing with them. Males are also very territorial and can be downright mean. I don't know much about the temperament of Papillons, but they are much cuter!! You can go to the AKC web site and find lots of info on breeds, their personalities, and even if they are good family pets. Best of luck!!

Chihuahua. believe me, I truthfully have adventure with the two and the chihuahua would be appropriate equipped on your project. to no longer say that Papillons are undesirable yet each physique which i've got ever dealt with became into uncontrolled and intensely hyper. only my opinion nevertheless.

If you have the mindset and are ready to devote immense amounts of time to a high energy breed, then yes get the Pappillon. I love all dogs. Chihuahua's are great but overbred just like Rottweilers and Pit Bulls. My mother-in-law wanted a Pappillon because they were cute and now she is beside herself because her 3 year old Prissy never slows down. We raise and breed American Bulldogs who are probably the toughest breed to train, due to therir stubborn nature, but they don't hold anything to Prissy, Good luck to you!

Probably a Papillion, but really you should get what you want. I tend to think most Paps are calmer and for the most part better bred, but there are also some very good Chihuahua Breeders. Its just that there are a lot of Chi breeders. Well, I think Japanese Chin are far more intellegent than Paps!

Nicely I'm a boy but I believe on us boys, short hair is always better. Long hair doesn't CONSTANTLY show a sign of dominance. You see most other guys with lengthy hair that doesn't look like they will can fight. For example there is a boy in my school along with very long blonde hair.

What grade are you in, little one? Let your friends help you decide. Or check to see what your parents can afford to get you. If you get a quality dog they are very expensive but you can find pet quality dogs everywhere for only a few hundred dollars. Oh, any where between $300.00 to $600.00.
