When I was 16 years old & a junior in high school, I was busted by my momma smoking pot (weed) with my friends & when my pops came in from work, she told him. This time--he didn't ground me. . . He went outside & broke what seemed like one of the longest & thinnest switch I ever seen & ordered me to what he called his tool shed. He then blocked its doorway with me in there & OH MY GOD. . . When he got through with me--I was covered in welts & cuts but can say that til this day, at 40 years old, I have never smoked anything or had the urge to. WHY? Because of that switch whipping my pops gave me (being that he hadn't whipped me since I was around 10 or 11). Now, my son has just turned 16 a couple of months ago & guess what? His football coach busted him smoking pot (weed) & notified me & his momma. Of course, we are trying to raise our son with new age parenting methods but obviously--they aren't working. Should I bring him to the "tool shed" like my pops did me?

I'm a full time mom,housekeeper,gardener,slave,doctor,lawyer,consultant,and loving wife.I do everythingfor my family and my husband, I LOVE THEM very much but the thing is my sister started this day for uswives that we should have a sat. to ourselves to do whatever all day, no questions asked from the hubbies!! My hubbie isn't so into this, he say's that our time,my time should be with the kids,which is everyday so what i guess the ? is, should I go out on sat. to do for myself or just stay at home with the kids as usual?

My mom, for whatever reason, likes to grab my arm when she's mad and dig her nails into my skin.

It hurts...

She treats me like sh*t compared to my older brother too...

My dad said if she hurts me, and I do anything about it he'll beat me up... Me and him have had fist fights before, but that's because he's a drunk loser.

So, would you consider that physcial abuse what my mom does to me?... Like I have dead skin all over my arm from her.

And I told my uncle [Finally] and he said if anything bad happens I'm welcome to stay with him.

But he lives in Ohio... And my parents would be on him for "kidnapping" because he picked me up because I was getting hurt.

So I don't know what to do. I love my uncle mroe than anything and I woud love to live with him, as opposed to my parents...

So I just don't know what to do?

My mother remarried this male 20 years older then herself. He has kids but they are a lot older then my brother or myself. They have been married for 8 years. For the time I lived at home we were consistently abused!!!!! I was the main target because I was older, I was always told how useless I was and how I couldn’t do anything, but my mother would always tell us we should just take it and be quiet. Never to stand up for ourselves. But I soon realized I had to get out, so I did. I’ve been out for 3 months. And now he’s started on my little brother of only 13. Fine pick on me, I can take it and get out. He can’t. My mother has to make sure she gets home when my brother does so to make sure her husband doesn’t verbally abuse him. PLEASE HELP ME AND MY BROTHER I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I NEED TO GET HIM OUT, BUT I CANT AFFORD FOR HIM TO LIVE WITH ME!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Such a long story. I will try to make it short.
I have 2 little sisters. Our Mom died 7 yrs ago. My sisters were 16 and 18 at the time.
Now, they are 25 and 26.
My 26 yr old sister and her husband and 2 stinking dogs have moved 7 hrs from home and moved in with us.
My Brother-in-law worked 5 days at a Car sales place that my husband got him. Well, no $$ so he quit. Since then has not even picked the phone up to ask about another job. My husband has asked him several times to ride with him during the day and meet some of the clients my husband works for, maybe find a job. My BIL always says no.
So, 2 weeks no job and no interviews.
Everytime I inquire to my lil sister about what they are doing, she picks up and leaves the room with no response what-so ever.
Now, My other little sister and her 2 year old is moving down here tomorrow. Cause, she has no sitter for her 2 year old, now that my other sister has moved.
So, here they all are , no-one is working but my husband.

My parents are THE worst parents ever. It's bad. My friends even know me as "the girl who has the overprotective-fun-sucking-strict-parents that won't let her do anything". I hate it! I'm turning freaking 17 on October 21, and I JUST went to my first concert. I don't even have my license yet because they wanted me to drive with my permit for a YEAR. I'm old for my grade and everyone younger than me has their license and their own car already. My parents won't let me buy a car until next summer! It's not that we don't have enough money, it's that they don't think I need one because I THEY can just drive me places. Do you know how embarrassing and demeaning it is to have your parents STILL drive you places?! It's horrible! Sure my friends can drive me places, but I HATE mooching rides off of people. My dad is working all the time, and my mom is always studying in her room for college. My annoying, suck-up, momma's boy of a brother doesn't help either. How do I deal with them?! AHHHHHHHH.

I live in a small town where there is nothing but druggies and alcoholics and the only friends I do have want only to hang out with me if I have something they need or want. I don't drink or do drugs and I feel like I am in hell. Also my mom was the most wonderful mother in the world before SHE started to drink and do drugs and now she is really depressing me. I am scared that I will get a call saying she died. Do you think I should move? I don't want to see her like that because all my life she didn't do those things and now she does. BUT I am scared to move because when she's sad I am her only friend that'll keep her from suicide. What do I do? I want to do what is best for me and my family???But I don't want to lose my mom.

should I get him for child support or just let it go. He haven't seen her since she was about 9 mos. old and she will be 2 in December. The guy that I am with now, we've been together since my daughter was 2 mos. old, he is the only man she know as daddy, and he takes very good care of her. i mean every family has at least one special person that screws up the life for every body else. it can be an uncle or a more distant or closer blood relative. of course i guess there are in laws there too but i don't think we can count them in.
can you give me a reason? feel free to elaborate. you'll do me a great favor because i had such a person who was so influencing my dad to the point that drove all my family crazy. at least i'll know i'm not alone in this situation!

Ok so my mom died when I was 10 (4 yrs ago) and she and my dad were NOT divorced they were happily married for 15 years. On Saturday night I got home from babysitting and 10:30 and my dad walked into my room and said he went on a date that night. First one since my mom died. He had gone out to dinner with some lady he used to work with. I DID NOT LIKE THIS ONE BIT!!!! I mean, I don't want him to die alone or anything I'm fine with him dating but... I just don't like it. My brother's friends dad jokingly said that he's not allowed to go to dinner and a movie until I'm allowed to go out to dinner and a movie =). Why do I feel this way (besides that she's replacing my mom) and what can I do to make myself feel ok?!!!

My Daughter is starting to ask me where her dad is at. What do i tell her? My daughter is turning four in November. And her dad was Shot seven times when i was 6 months pregnant with her. And that night after he was shot he did the obvious and Died. It was gang related and I'm not sure what to tell her. I have pictures of him around the house everywhere. And his name tattooed on my back. I need advice. I'm not sure what to do her dad did ad things but I love him always. I was only 13 when I had her. And now I'm not sure. All answers our THANKED!

I'm 20 years old and for my whole life I remember my dad being a critic. He's been harsh on me, verbally and sometimes physically abused me but we started getting closer before I left for college. In my first year of college i went away and for whatever reason i failed out and came home and had to start all over in a community college. Since then (2 years) my dad has been ashamed that I'm in community college and lost a year. Whenever he talks to my sister he tells her things like "don't be like your sister" "you're my last hope", "she's a failure" and things like that. He never talks to me directly unless forced and it's usually small talk and he's still bitter about it. I can hear him fighting with my mom through the walls about how it's like he'd rather he didnt have a daughter than having a stupid ugly one, or that i'll never get married. When me or my sister do something wrong, the blame mostly falls on me. They take family vacations without me and when i came home from college

I recently stepped into a new relationship with a wonder guy and everything so far is great...The only problem is his Mother isn't too fond of me. I guess I can understand because she raised my bf and his sister and 2 brothers as a single Mom (the Dad left her alone with all 4 kids!). She is VERY protective with the kids and is worried that her sons will carry on the same traits as the Father. My boyfriend has had his share of women and I guess she doesn't like meeting different girls all the time (I think he said he has introduced her to about 3 other girls.) Usually when I meet peoples parents they usually LOVE me...But his Mom is a different case, she seems to not like me at all when we haven't even been introduced yet. He would like to introduce me to his Mother and I would also like to be introduced because she is afterall his MOM and also she is living with him. am 16 I live with my mom, my younger bro. and my Grandmother and her husband. My little brother is my moms favorite and he knows it, and uses it to get me in trouble. He is a hitting, kicking, pulling, spitting, swiping, annoying, loud, brattiest 4 year old you will ever meet. Yes he is only 4 but still evil. My Grandparents are emotionally and verbally abusive. But mostly my grandmother. Don’t tell me to talk to my Dad I have and he cant do anything, He lives about 800 miles away.
I am home schooled, so a school councilor is not an option. Don’t tell me to talk to my mom or grandparents, they are the kind of people who are NEVER wrong.
It has been like this for as long as I can remember. Only my older sister was the favorite until she moved out. You know first child is the favorite, last child ( and first boy ) is the favorite. Middle child is just there to serve. I have been a slave-girl to my sister since I could walk. & to my little brother since he came along.

She is married to a commercial pilot and has two boys, ages 13 and 7. They are wealthy. She is 38 yrs old and has never worked outside of home. After 17 yrs of marriage she decided she doesn't want to be a wife or mother anymore. She started bartending at a local pub and met some shady people who do drugs. Now she moved into an apartment with one of the bad influences (female). My whole family (who is very close knit) is extremely upset and flabbergasted. I can't talk to her now because I am so disappointed. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

My mother is under alot of stress these days because she's got alot to do around the house and is busy and stuff.. We're moving in a couple of moths, the nanny just quit so she has no one to help her with my baby brother, my sister is going through her awkward pre-pubescent phase and is driving her nuts, and my dad works alot.. We're a very happy family, but we're just going through a rough time.. There's only so much i can do to help: im a senior in highschool and I have a lot of work to do.. but i try to help out as much as I can.. The problem is, she's been in a bad mood lately and she takes it out on me.. I've talked to her about it bt it doesn seem to help

I have lived in this place for... this will be my second year. I'm a very outgoing person and I haven't been acting glum around school. I know I have give it a fair shot. I am so unhappy though. I miss my friends. I have friends here. I have given it time. How can I convince my parents that I should move back? Don't tell me that I should just give this new place time or that I should just roll with the punches. I miss feeling excepted and having close friends.
Any suggestions? Would a letter to my parents help? I've already expressed that I wanted to move back by talking to them but I think they thought I was just in a bad mood.
