amd processor, with windows xp and an 11 year old who keeps on adding games after game after game. My C drive is always poping up with some issue about space. The PC we have is great and I was wondering how to upgrade the C drive.

IS THIS POSSIBLE?
I am not computer savvy but I can hold my own.

Thanks for your time!

The power supply on my Sony Vaio desktop went bad so I've replaced it with a new one and I'm getting the same message but no whirring fan noise. Could this one be bad as well or is there some step that I left out when I installed the new device.

A little less than a month ago, I took my computer to a computer shop to have it looked at because it wouldn't turn on. So the guy replaced my power supply, gave me a new hard drive and upgraded my video card and it cost me $350. I was fine with the results because I could finally play the sims2 again! But starting from about a week ago, my computer will just randomly shut down and then restart. Sometimes it won't restart all the way to the start screen and it will shut down again and compulsively turn on and off. It's really annoying and it often shuts down when I'm doing something important!!

And..I don't think all this shutting down and restarting is too good for my computer...
So, can anyone tell me what the problem is here and how I can fix it? Thanks a bunch!!

I have tried to call Dell several times over the last two weeks to first ask advice and then to place an order, the t.v. commercial makes it look so easy.... nice lady at the end of the phone asking what you use your computer for then puts together a package to meet the chap's requirements. So how come none of then understand me? Not only that i have had real difficulty understanding them. I have still not orderd my computer. Has anyone else experienced similar?

I bought a gateway about 2 months ago and it has a 320gb seagate hard drive. It is making some noise so I think it is defective and will die out on me soon. I am going to go buy a new hard drive today but this will be my first time dealing with hardware. Can someone please tell me :

1. A good company that makes hard drives
2. Not too expensive at the most $100
3. 100gb+ space is enough
4. A store such as Circuit City, CompUSA, Bestbuy, staples, or office depot that sells it
5. Will it be compatible with my computer? here is a link to a website with all my computer's specs.
http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gateway-Gateway-Media-Center-Desktop-with-Intel-Core-2-Duo-Processor-E6300-GM5260
6. How do I install the operating system onto it using my Gateway recovery (reformatting) CD?

Thank you!

For about a week the cd-rom on my computer has been making loud noises and then it opens by itself. I close the cd-rom and it opens by itself again. This happens about 3 or more times. Other than that it works fine. I checked my computer for viruses and it doesn't have any. So why does the cd-rom open up by itself?
