ok so im considering upgrading my computer with all the latest hardware.i already got a graphics card for my computer, and I want to buy the intel core 2 duo processor, 2gb of ram, and maybe a 250 gb hardrive.if i buy the intel core 2 duo processor will i be able to just use it in ANY computer or is it only for newer ones. my computer is about 4-5 years old and it is a dell dimension 2400. with 256 mb of ram and a 40 gb hardrive. will all of this make my internet go faster? in terms of kb/s. will it be as fast as todays computers?

whenever i play san andreas my coumputer restarts after 20-30 mins of play....i went to the event viewer and this is the msg that i got :

" Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x8007007e. "

What is that and how do i fix it so i can play san adreas for more than 30 mins.

I have my eye on two computers this weekend, but I can only get one. Should I get the computer with 1024 MB memory with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, or the computer with 2048 MB memory with an AMD Live! Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor?

I set my virtual memory to 2 Gigs already. I have 512 physical RAM. I only run a few apps at the same time. And yet there would be 4mb left, especially when I'm using Firefox (not just the browser though).

My husband replaced his hard drive on a Compaq Presario 6000. Getting "non-system disc or disc error" on startup. WE NEED A WINDOWS XP SYSTEM DISC, to re-install it onto the hard drive to operate our PC. If we could download it and burn it onto a CD to install that would be best. Can anyone help?

ok i have an AMD sempron 3000+ and i've run programs on it and they say it's running at 1 Ghz. i'm sure this is true because i've tried to run some games and they won't run because of this. but on the box and on the AMD website, it says a sempron 3000+ is supposed to be 1.8 Ghz! what could be causing my CPU to not run as fast as it's supposed to?

i have a DELL 8250 desktop with Windows XP.

i got 2 Kingston 512 mb, PC 2700, 333MFz, DDR. RAM.

HOWEVER! i think i got ****** because one has a green backing and the other has a black one. and the individual square things have different names. one is NANYA and the other one is ELPIDA. but they are both caragorized as the same thing! ...does the difference matter? im really pissed right now and all i want is an answer. i have been getting so screwed over about this whole thing. o yeah, and one is just slightly bigger than the other one. y did this happen to me? damn u office depot.

My trash can will not work at ALL. Everytime I put something in the trash can and try to empty it, I get this error message:

"Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (Error code - 8062)"

I've rebooted my computer numerous times, I've done Disk Utility and try to find as much updates for my computer as possible and it's still giving me problems.


Has anyone else expeirenced this or know what the hell is going on?

When starting up my computer, my 17" LCD monitor(less than 1 yr old) stays dark or displays moving verticle bands of light. So far if I keep messing with it after a long while it will finally display the opening page, then once it does, everthing works fine for as long as I'm on the computer ( a Compact Presario), till the next time I start it up again. It seemed like pressing the on /off button on the monitor might help it open the page sometimes. Seemed like the problem started a week ago after I downloaded an anti virus program and it scanned my computer and and found 1 file that it claimed was infected with trojan horse virus and it deleted it. I've since uninstalled that software from the computer. Mabe that's just a coincidence? Do you think its the computer or the monitor and what can I do about it?

Hi, I bought a new Gateway PC and it started making clicking noises from inside the tower. I dont know what it is. Whenever I'm not doing anything, its very quiet cant even hear but when I open something or click something it make clicking noises like on older PC's. On the tower itself it says "Ultra Quiet Operation" Could you please help me on figuring out and fixing this? Thanks!
