i.e. can I use my older 1.5 hard drives in a motherboard with 3.0 ports? I know that a 3.0 hard disk will work in a 1.5 motherboard port, but vice versa?

Anyone have it working?

Motherboard is a MSI 645 Ultra P4 board
I can get a better price on a 1gb pc3200 ram chip.
So even though it won't increase performance can I put it in, instead of the pc2700 it's designed for?

Will it even have a hard drive? Or will all data soon be stored offsite? Will it have a lot of processing power, or will that, too, be performed offsite, all through the internet.

I have noticed that many people leave their computers on all day for some reason. I would like to know why and if its better or worse for the computer than to just turn it off. Also, is it more efficient to leave it on?

Anyway, the only thing I would like to know is why do many people leave their computers on all day and if you are one of them, why?

Does anyone think they can help me. On the internet only some pages work and some don't. I got a popup message in internet explorer saying that my registry is running low on space. Is there any easy way I can clear it out and solve the problem. Or would it be an entirely different problem that doesnt even involve the registry?

Recently we popped up Device Manager errors on a weird combination of things including:
Under CD Rom Drive:
HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B

Under Modems:
SoftV92 Data Fax Modem

Under Network Adaptors:
1394 Net Adaptor

Under Sound, video and game controllers
Creative SBLive! Series (WDM)

Under System devices:
Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator

All sound controls are dead. In Device manage - not able to update drivers or troubleshoot. The machine is about 5 years old - running Windows XP - reinstalled (Complete install - reformated the HD) over ME. We added new Memory 512M about 2 years ago no problems. Only change as of recently a half complete download of a maj jong game from MSN (Cancelled about 1/2 the way through). Any idea where to start (Sorry am more of a software person not real comfortable with the hardware)

I just burned my first DVD movie! I first used a DVD-R, then I used a DVD+R and had the same results with each....they play fine on the computer but will only playback on ONE of my THREE DVD players. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to insure that my movies will play back on most ANY DVD player? Thanks!

I have now taken my computer to Best Buy for warranty work 4 times now and every single time they never find anything wrong. It's always been the same problem. I can be playing games, working on a document or even simple web browsing and my PC will power off! When I took the PC to Best Buy (for the SAME prob) I was without a computer for over 30 days and when I got it back they reformatted the disk and didn't bother to back up my data! Guess what? I still have the SAME prob! My PC kept shutting off last night!

Im sure I have a lemon yet even after 4 trips Best Buy refuses to get me a new PC even though I purchased the ext warranty (what a joke). So with this in mind, instead of bringing back my PC for the SAME problem can someone please tell my how to successfully kill the PC without yanking parts &/or zapping it?

This isnt a question to troubleshoot my PC. I am way beyond this. I want to give Best Buy a big F U and tell them to shove their precious ext warranty up their cornhole
