need to upgrade memory in my HP Pavilion 4413 to run XP - currently has 48mb sdram dimm 66mhz synchronous - (1) will it take pc100 ram instead of pc66 ram ? (2) is it ok to use double sided sdram if it will take the pc100 ram ?

Someone once told me that you can take a hard drive out of your comuter and plug it into some sort of case and it will turn into a USB external hard drive that I can then plug into my new computer. I've looked into it, but I can't find anything that looks like that. Does anyone know anything about it like a model number, where I can buy it, or an approximate cost? Thanks.

I did everytihng as exactally as you guys told me to. I put my second HD into the empty bay for a secondary HD. But the problem is, how do I connect the power to the second HD. I heard you can only use the P5 plug to power the primary HD. Can I use P6 or P8?

MY FIRST HD IS SATA(a few, very small pins in one row) AND THE SECOND HD IS ATA(with the twenty something pins). MY DVD DRIVE IS CONNECTED TO THE MOTHER BOARD USING THE ONLY IDE PORT ON MY COMPUTER.

What do I do?

It sits on the display screen of the Asus logo for like 5-10 minutes before it starts. I updated my Nforce4 drivers too, but that didn't seem to fix the problem. Any one ever deal with this sort of thing?

I am trying to fix a friend's computer but he needs drivers for his motherboard. He claims that no CD came with the motherboard, but I call BS. I know the motherboard's manufacturer has downloadable drivers and software on their website, but how do I know what motherboard his system is using??? Softwarewise he is using XP Home Edition... Has a AMD Athlon 1800 and 512 mb of RAM. Any ideas????

I keep on hearing a little squeak coming from my computer, sometimes it freezes, sometimes it doesn't. It usually is just a matter of time until it does in fact freeze, or automatically restart. Usually, windows will not even boot up after the loading screen, so I restart, and choose boot with last workign setting. It works for a bit, then it will freeze up again. I have no idea what the problem is, but I came down to a few possibilities. Maybe I need a new power source? I have fans cooling my computer. Sometimes, it will have quick lockups with the mouse. Could it be my memory? Ugh, help please =)

right my mother-in-law bought a pc and didnt get a os disc or a os recovery disc with it and the computer has slowed down even tho it has avg, spybot, adaware n zonealarm in it. ive done evrything that i kno but i cant get it 2 speed up so i was gonna formatt the hd but there is no disc! how do i create 1 or obtain 1?

When i start my pc it keeps on shuting downand & restarting for about 3-4times or i have to quickly select a programm to stop it.When i want to shut down the moment i click shutdown on Start Menu it quickly shutsdown wthout give me the option whether i wnt to log off or stand by,it then startup again....when the log on window appears thats when i get to shut down properlly
