From what I can gather, once the main motherboard + processor is fitted into the desired case, you need to slot in the relevant PC cards + Drives ,connect the cables , then load up the the Operating system and then the other s/ware. Surely, there must be alot more involved - What problems/pitfalls would there be? Can someone reccommend a good parts/kit supplier or maybe instead details of someone who bulids machines to order ? I have already tried MESH computers, but not truely a fully fledged custom machines provider and quite expensive too.

I am currently using, the completely bottom of the line ATi Radeon 9550. The sad bare minimum of minimums in graphic processing standards. Its about 4 years old now, doesn't even have a GPU lol

Anyway, I'm looking at the ATi Radeon 512MB X1900XT because I want the best graphics card (though the XTX is a tweak better, value for money is with XT) and I think I deserve it having have collected the money and living with this 9550 junk for an eternity by computing standards. =)

However, my burning question is, is now a good time? ATi Radeon is currently developing their new R600 line of cards scheduled for a Q4, Q1 or Q2 release. Though it is still DirectX 9, these cards are as revolutionary in design and capacity as the Core 2 Duo is compared to Pentium chips.

Ofcourse, there is the future DirectX 10 cards which I have yet to see/hear even rumours of development...then again, not sure if I would even want to use Windows Vista or not =( Help people...? lol

click on a yahoo question to answer, in a new window, the box is so small, and I'm tired of keep on expanding the window. How did this happen, how do I fix it, & how do I keep it from occuring in the future?

The link that I open in a new window is still very small. I have to keep clicking on the middle box so I can make the window large to see what the questions/answers are. I didn't have to do this the other day...it just started happening, and is driving me nuts.

I looked on the motherboard specs sheet (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=396434&docname=c00063272#N893) and it said that the motherboard supports two UltraDMA/150 SATA connectors, but if you look at the layout of the motherboard (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/c00424049.gif), all I can see are two IDE connectors. Do I need to buy some kind of adapter, or am I just overlooking something?

This causes it to freeze and cease booting. Booting up just now took 4 tries. I first tried many antivirus and antispyware programs, none of which found anything. I tried a system restore to before the problem began which also did not help. Reformatting the hard drive did not help either. So I have concluded that it must be a hardware problem. Is it the power supply, the motherboard, or something else?
