It said it had a virus how can i remove this?

You do have anti virus software and spy ware, right? Why are they not installed and running? Activate the anti virus and run a scan and clean. If you don't have the software, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER OR HIT THE ESC BUTTON. Leave the computer alone and take it to a reputable technician on Monday.

If its an IE based pop-up, chances are its just spam. Download some anti-spyware software and scan for problems.
