Desktops - July 2006

You cannot just go to device manager and disable it, I can do that to my new sound card though. The one with the 3 year old quit working and I added a new sound card. Now i think it slows my computer down quite a bit.
There are other problems too, like not being able to get yahoo to come up from the browser. I must go to google and then search for yahoo and click on link.

There is sound...but it sounds squeaky/highpitched. I took away the wireless thing but it still sounded like that. There are no wires and the speakers are in the motherboard I guess. It is an AC'97 sound card. it probably sucks because this computer is from my mom's company that they were not using anymore! Is that the reason why then??

What does this mean and what are my options as far as upgrading my graphics card in either both nVidia and ATI? What should I be looking for?

Also, I see this in my System Information.

Anytime I plug in my printer or Ipod or anything a bubble pops up and says unreconizable device. With my I pod it will charge it, but not read it, so I know there is power coming to them. Hey. I am thinking of buying a new computer. I want a desktop, that has some serious gaming power, and hopefully not more than $2000.
