i need to record my xbox life game matches to make a montage so any info would help im and clueless on this subject, i need a video card that will do that in the smallest size possible.

If its Standard Definition, you can use approx 1.5 MB/sec which works out to 1350 MB for 15 minute clip. If it is High Definition use approx 5 MB/sec.

The actual space will depend on the clip, though.

Which capture card you buy will not matter. All the cards come with software that allow you capture the video at different rates and quality. You would want to choose a low quality and low capture rate to reduce file size. Usually the software will list the quality and rate with technical numbers, but then also say something like "Small size, medium quality", or "Large size, DVD quality." You would have to play around a little to find the one that is right for your project.

So as there are dozens of different qualilty and rate settings, there is no one answer for how big a 15 minute video would be.

Approximately 250MB, based on a 1GB of disc space per hour of video.

It depends on a lot of things. Shouldn't be more than a couple of gigabytes, though.
