If your pc is sorta old, then it has a USB 1 port. The new flash disks might be USB 2. So, the pc can't talk to them. Other devices might be USB 1 and they can work.
Maybe you can update the system to see USB 2. I don't know your pc.
;-D USB is not always 'Universal.'

first thing make sure your USB drive is working properly this by right clicking on Mycomputer and select Properties , then click on device manager tab and scroll down to USB devices click on the ( +) sign near it and select the USB by just one click and on the butt om of the dilaog box click on Properties ,here you can find out whether its working or not, if it is ,then be aware that some flash disks are designed to work on newer versions while others can work with all
so if you are running win95/98 probably your version and finally check your memory whether you have enough or not.

ascertain you quite in many circumstances get rid of the drives "appropriately". i'd many times restart the workstation. or do a rollback(equipment fix), yet thats probable unnecessary. also flow to regulate panel/ upload new hardware and merely use your mind there.. i am hoping i helpd. also: is it one among those sensible drives which have a set of courses put in(U3)?
