Will all my data be erased? I'm moving about 40 miles away.

No. Barring any damage to your hard drive, you should be able to connect all the plugs back up and be on your way. Be ure to get your internet hooked up in your new location !!!

No unless it gets knocked around and the hard drive breaks or some other accident occurs

You will not lose any files; however, if you are changing Internet Service Providers, you may have to change some parameters when you get there.

Nope. Just hook up everything the same as u would in your current place. it should all be fine.
