Turn your computer back on, and verify the memory is displayed on your startup screen. If your startup screen is hidden, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the General tab, and verify the memory is recognized.

Carefully replace the cover if the memory is recognized and the computer seems to be functioning correctly.

If you just installed ram like it sounds, you don't need to do anything, the computer will recognise it immediately. I do recommend however running a boot check of the ram using your BIOS, just to make sure nothing is wrong with it, but that isn't necessary.

You shouldn't have to do anything. The motherboard will automatically recognize the memory.
