I know that I need to buy an external hard drive kit, but do I delete the windows OS off it? just tell me the steps i need to do to use it with my new computer. thanks.

if you are going to use the the external hard drive as storage, yes delete windows. format it to fat32, ntfs, ext3, whatever you want and plug it in. it should work fine.

Thats right! Just purchase a kit/ case, then should be ok. And it will not delete and effect your windows.
But when use the external HD on your new computer, then it should become an external storage like Pendrive. So, your external HD's windows will not boot as your need to set the BIOS!
