My comp is a desktop AMD 1000 with a 30 gig HD(hard drive) as the primary master, a DVD recorder as primary slave and a CD recorder as the secondary master. I'm planning on getting a 250 gig HD to use to hold files. Can I put the new HD in the secondary slave spot? If not how should I arrange them?

Extra question: Is it better to install Windows XP on the smaller or larger HD?

What is the best way to make home DVD's from my DV camcorder?

I was wondering what would be the best way to capture, edit, and convert my videos that I capture from my Sony DV camcorder. The .avi files are extremely large and I need to somehow reduce the size so that I do not lose too much quality and also convert them so they can be played on my home DVD player.

I was given this HP 6355 to fix up for my daughter. It is an older machine & had two very small hard drives..one 1 GB & the other 1.4 GB..The computer had Windows 98 on it & I bought the Windows XP upgrade. I installed it & it worked fine, then it told me one of the hard drives was bad & to replace it. I had just recently bought a new hard drive for my own computer so I put my old one in the HP..As soon as I did that I turned it on & it told me that no operating system could be found...I put the Windows XP cd in & then it said it was checking my hardware configuration, then it went straight to an error code..it said file\i386\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded error code 27136 press any key to exit..I tried pressing a key & it does nothing.. thats it, it does not go past there. I do not know what to do...Please any help..

I recently installed some new RAM (512 MB) for my Apple Power Mac G4 (733mHz). THe computer worked fine, the RAM even showed up in the system profiler. Within minutes, the computer froze. Now everytime i start up it sits and spins on "Login Window Startup". I tried taking out the new RAM and the same thing happens. Is there anything I can do? When I search "Login Window Startup" I get alot of results about Macs getting stuck there, too. But nothing mentions RAM. It also goes beyond my knowledge. I was going to try and startup from the OS Disc, but I can't even get the CD tray open. THere isn't that tiny button I can access with a paper clip.

Any pointers I can get would be appreciated. I may not know alot about this kinda stuff, but I can RTFM. I just need to know where to start.

Many Thanks!!!
