Personally, I already have a monitor, so I'm searching for a Mac Mini. Also, the Mini and G5 towers show room for expansion, while the iMac is kind of a vested purchase.

Also, if you like getting dirty, supposedly, you can buy an older G4 tower for like $300 and add a CPU, video card, and RAM upgrades for around $400-800 more.

I'm still mad at Apple for taking away my mirrored drive doors...

Yep: you both choose a cable with FireWire 400 on one area and FireWire 800 on the different, or you want a FW400-to-800 adapter (they're less expensive). FW400 replaced into the conventional for a lengthy time period, yet FW800 is plenty swifter, so Apple dropped the FW400 on the hot Macs. upon getting them linked you could launch Migration Assistant on the iMac (it is less than applications -> Utilities) and stick with the teachings.

G5 it more expensive than Imac
it depend on you need to use

Imac it suitable for Home work (e-mail, some graphic and some muti-media)

G5 it design to be heavyweight if you are graphic designer or multi media editing, 3D-use G5 it better

Price it depend on you work
