I have deskop pc... and configration is Gigabyte Technology 2004 RZ Series Motherboard, 512 mb RAM, AMD Athlon 2000+ processor, VIA onboard chipset...... onboard memory is 32mb(shared memory)... and i tried to increase that memory on bios setup but there is no option to increase.... so i want solution for it... please help me....

When we right click on the windows 98 desk top, we get a menu, in which "LINE UP ICONS" is one of the items. But when we click on that, nothing happens. Why is it so ? (I Know most of the people would have migrated to windows xp/ windows vista, but still this doubt has been in my mind for the past several years ) !

I have a dell optiplex gx 240 motherboard with a 1.5 cpu and a optiplex gx 260 motherboard with a 2.4 cpu. Can I take the bigger cpu and switch out the older smaller cpu without any problems?

Hello This Q is for my moms pc. I am not a know it all but I know a few things about computers. But there is always somthing new they do so thats why im here. Her computer is a 3 1/2 years old HP Pavilion a3o5w. Within the last few days her computer will randomly shut off and on occation it will turn its self back on a few moments latter. Some times it will shut off and wont turn on if the power switch is pressed and it will have to sit a few minutes befor turning on. The pc has been virus scaned, spyware scaned, clean disk, Defragment and scan disk. I am guessing its the power supply. I would greatly like some feedback on this. Thanks everyone :)

I have a compaq s5000nx running as a media box, its sporting a 2.5 celeron processor that desperately needs upgrading. According to everything that I can find, the motherboard has a bus speed of 400Mhz, the processor that I am looking at is a 3.0 P4 Prescott, in the 478 socket. Will this processor support the bus speed at 50% of what its used to?
And as a follow up, what kind of performance difference is there between a 400 and 800mhz system bus and is it worth upgrading motherboards?

I have a brand new ECS motherboard. PT890T-A (V1.0) (see the link below) and it says on the site "designed for XP" however I want to put Vista on it in the future. Will Vista work with any motheboard? I have a 3.06 GHz processer, 2 GB of RAM, 256 MB video card, 500 GB hard drive, and pretty much everything I need to run it but will it work on any motherboard? Check the site for more info. I want to put Vista on it when SP1 comes around. Thanks for any help.
