Is it time to upgrade my video card, its 9800 pro? I can still play Company of Heroes on low settings fine, and other new games like Need For Speed Carbon,Half Life2. Oh yeah I have a question why does it start to lag pretty bad when I load a big map in Company of Heroes? Is it because I have only 512mb system ram or because 128mb video ram?

does upgradeing cpu also require changing heatsink and fan?
thats all i want to know since tomorrow I'm upgrading my CPU.
Or just keep the OEM heatsink and fan which are in perfect working condition?
P.S
I do have a spare heatsink along with fan. "HYPER48 cooler master" which i always can install on my pc... but my only concern is that the heatsink is for P4(same socket though). It does not specifically say on the box or in users manual that it supports core 2 duo or pentium D which I currently have on my PC.
Thank's

What is the difference between a partition and a logical drive?

I installed a new MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard with Muskin memory and a E6600 Intel CPU. I dropped in the harddrive from my old machine with a working copy of Windows XP Pro, but it won't get past the Windows loading splash screen. It comes up as loading, for about 1 second, and then reboots the computer to the black and white screen where you choose "Last Known Config". Safe Mode doesn't work, LKC doesn't work, nothing will get Windows to load.

I put the drive back into my old machine and it works/boots windows fine.

BIOS sees the CPU and memory, so what is it? I've heard something about Windows not booting if it notices a different CPU/BIOS.... true?

Right now just surfing the internet its running at 41 degrees Celsius. I just installed a brand new (Really nice) cooler for my CPU. I was gaming (Oblivion) for about 5 minutes, and the CPU got up to 45 degrees Celsius. Im thinking this is a bit too hot just for gaming for only 5 minutes.

Oh by the way Im running a AMD 3800 X2. The cooler I just installed is this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134). I just wanna make sure that everything will remain stable.

I press start, run and type in DXDIAG and under the display tab it says: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family?

and for sound it says: Realtek Audio Rear Output?

Type: WDM?

Please can you tell me what this means?

I have no sound when I run my PC in safemode. When I go into the device manager and click status of my sound driver it says Status is not available for this device when Windows is running in Safe Mode.
Is there anything I can do to change this so I have sound in safemode? When I run my pc in regular mode it just locks up totally no keybvoard mouse wont move. So I have to run in safemode.

The current marketing hype surrounding the two major CPU manufacturers, would have us believe that upgrading, or purchasing these latest chips is crucial, and that we will be able to do so much more.

And yet no one in the 'consumer' software industry seems to be embracing these technologies.

MS Vista, for all it's bells and whistles, is still only 32bit, with 64 bit available for a premium,(Price aswell as driver issues)

Pretty much the same can be said about the requirement to have Dual Cores.

So my question is, why bother to go 64bit dual core when there is hardly any software that will make use of it, outside Professional applications (AutoCad, & Adobe suites)?

PS. Just bought an AMD64 x2 3800 and not noted much difference over AMD64 3200.
