my computer has started to play up and the sound has gone on it it is onbuilt sound the graphics is playing up, it will restart itself every 2 hours or crash one of the two, never lets me play videos or if it does it will play them about 20 minutes after i have asked it to, and it will not let me reinstall windows home xp, what is wrong wiht my computer or is it not worth getting fixed and getting a new one

On getting the biggest hdd? I have an 80 gigger and I've never had it full or even close to full.....the most its been at any given time is, 20 gig If they had a 1000gig would you recommend it?

I tried moving one computer into another case and found that it just wouldn't work so I tried to put it back into its original case and I can't remember where the Front Panel (eg. power switch, led lights etc.) plug in. I don't know where to find what model the motherboard is but it is fairly old and the front panel connections are all seperate unlike in some other computers where it is all in one. If it helps, its a computer manufactured by Colossus and it has an AMD Processor. PLEASE HELP

i'm not exactly a noob at computers. i've had experience in setting up new components in my older computer and how the basic architecture works.

anyway i finally have enough money to build a great gaming system. I got it pretty well organized, with a spreadsheet of all the parts and their prices in many different combos. Basically my question is wether this set-up will work good or not and any other thoughts you have about it. I'm getting all my parts from newegg.com and my specs are as follows:

i can hear clicking sound from my hardrive whenever its head access some data. i was able to observe that other laptops dont make that much clicking sound. im using a hitachi travelstar hard drive. is it normal for this drive to make clicking sounds?its been clicking since the day i bought it. thanks for the help!!!

The drive crashed. Needless to say, the person that it belongs to had no backup and the drive is CRUCIAL to him. Every time I stick it in a Mac, it just sits there and spins. I've tried Disk Warrior and Disc Rescue II, and both just freeze while trying to even scan the disk. So I stuck it in a PC, and through Disk Manager I could actually recognize it. I installed MacDisk and then the drive showed up!! Now, I tried to copy files, and its still giving me errors. At this point, I either just want to make an image of the drive, or do a repair. What can I do to save this drive? I also tried using Acronis TrueImage to make an image, and initially it said bad sectors (first at 0, then at numbers in the millions) and then when I clicked ignore TrueImage didn't recognize it anyway.

Please, I hope someone can help me.

Have a computer that has some info on it that I do not want any one to come accross in the future How can I completely earase the hard drive so that it can not be retrieved. Personal files and info of deceased relative. Computer is Compaq running Win XP. do not have recovery disk for computer Please help.

The computer has a 144GB capacity, 76.35GB free space (52%). I cannot complete a disk cleanup. I tried doing a defrag at 2A this morning and at 8A it was only at 32% complete. Where do I start and how do I find out what is using the memory? I use a DSL line, but the computer is performing as if it were a dialup. Also, my hobby is photography...a lot of pixs. This is a Dell..so forget Customer Service.

I'm getting a motherboard that can support two PCIe SLI graphics cards both at 16X . I want some REAL power for gaming and graphics programs but don't want to spend heaps. Am I best off getting two cheaper cards (eg. Geforce 7600GT)or one expensive one ( eg. Geforce 8800GT)?

I bought a new PC 4 days ago and it had like 290GB free from 293GB and today only 239GB are free, i dont undrestand why is this hapening, i didnt dowload anything, i only installed 3 Games and they together take only like 10Gb of space. whats hapening?

I recently bought a new PC with windows vista, it uses about 700 Mb of RAM even when i am not doing anything and the CPU usage always jums from 5 to 20 or more percent. Is everything ok with my PC? Does vista normaly use so much memory?

video breaksdown and flicker just prior to shuting down. CPU fan is operating at 3200rps and temp is operating at about 60c without load in bios. Not sure what temp the cpu shutsdown at? could this be caused by video card or is the heat effecting the video quality? love to hear your thoughts Jason

I am trying to update to make a half-decent gaming PC. I have already looked into Buying More RAM but i stumbles across bits and pieces of things and I am starting to think i should just scrap it and buy a bone system off of e-bay or something and just plug my hard drve back in.

Basically i need some of you computer saavy guys out there to tell me your analysis of this and what i really need to do.

No one say go to Crucual.com all it does is tell me to buy more ram so ya.....
