i have my new sony dvd drive installed on my computer the problem is that?

my drive is detected by the bios but not seen in my computer plssssss help me ( also it's seen in device manager and hardware properties

If Windows XP go into administrataive tools from the control panel.

Administrative Tools> Computer Management>Storage>Disk Management (local) and see if the disk is there. If not rescan all drives. You may need to change drive letter and paths.

Depending on how it is connected to the ribbon going to the motherboard, you must have the pins on the back set as "master" or "slave"
