Im looking for an external box with a hard drive that will download files while my pc is off. I know they have them i just dont remember what there called and cant seem to find them.

that is not possible...you can buy another cheap computer and set it up as a fileserver and tell it to download stuff off the net before you go to bed and then when you wake up it has finished downloading but that is the closest you can get...a computer cannot do anything if it has been turned off (at least untill they implement the features that Windows Home Server is said to provide)

The only external hard drive that can download hile your PC is off, is actually in a laptop that is ON.
If a PC is off a hard drive CANNOT download on it's own.

Hi. They are called 'External Hard Drives' but your PC has to be on and connected to the internet.
