I have no sound when I run my PC in safemode. When I go into the device manager and click status of my sound driver it says Status is not available for this device when Windows is running in Safe Mode.
Is there anything I can do to change this so I have sound in safemode? When I run my pc in regular mode it just locks up totally no keybvoard mouse wont move. So I have to run in safemode.

Well the whole point of safe mode is that it doesn't load all the drivers (sound, video, network etc) because one of them is causing lockups or crashes. It's only for troubeshooting, not a mode you want to run your computer in on a regular basis.

If you are having to run your computer in Safe Mode, you have way more serious problems than the drivers for your sound card. Windows Safe Mode is a diagnostic version of the main Operating Service. It only loads the basic/necessary components.

Sound is not a 'necessity', so it is therefor not loading the drivers, especially if they are not Windows-based. (Third party)

Just save yourself the trouble and re-install Windows. Format first, then start with a clean install.

Cheers

There's a reason why its called safe mode. It doesn't load anything. That includes drivers for the sound. Safe mode is for you to get in to fix problems and then go back out. It is not intended for normal usage. Try solving the problem on why your comp locks up. Maybe a new piece of hardware or a new program you installed.

Safe mode does not load any drivers, so you wont be able to hear sound.
You better fix the issue of the lockup in regular mode.

Safe mode loads only the minimum drivers neccesary to make the computer function. It's purpose is to allow you to debug which driver or software is being loaded at startup that keeps your computer from functioning.
