I want to erase all nonessentail programs from my computer, so I can give it to my mother, but i don't want to erase the operating system. I have Win. XP. I don't have a recovery disc. My computer was purchased with XP allready loaded on it. And a XP disc was not included.

i bought a computer in 2005 from walmart in arizona . and the monter has been messing up going all black . and i called the maker of the computer hp pavilion vx74 and they asked for sn# so i gave it to her and she said it was in this guys name tony . and i bought this computer brand new okay i have the receipt and walmart said it was my fault . what can i do to fix this problem ?

I need to reset my computer for my daughter. I can't seem to locate the restore disc, but the D drive has everything. How do I reset the C drive to be the? I am going to be giving it to my 11 year old so I just want to strip it down and she can put her programs on it.

Okay there are some private files on my computer( SS NUM, Cell Info, account numbers ebay stuff etc.) How do I make sure these people dont get it. Or do new computer hardrives still store evrything you have been too. A guy I know says his computer worker found all the adult sites he had been too and said he was embarrassed as heck! I want to buy a PNY Geforce 8800 GTX and it says as part of its specifications that I need a power supply with a 12V/30A.

I would prefer a 600W+ powersupply that gives me 12V/30A but any help is appreciated.

High end games?
here is my choice of 2 machines:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz

or

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800(Dual-Core) 2GHz

Now as I understand it, the dual core means there are 2 1.9 ghz cpus in the chip. How is that faster than 1.9 ghz?

I am so confused.

I just got a new computer and when i hook it up to my 17" monatior it looks all burry but when i hook another computer up to the same montior it looks good what is wrong and how do i fix it. A few people asked if the pc fan was even running...
Well the problem is that when I plug it in and turn the power strip on it immediately flashes and nothing else happens. I've even held in the button!

eBay does not have my model PC with the components I have in it, because I added a good deal myself. I was looking for a website that would take into account all of your system specs and give you an estimate price. If no one knows such a site, perhaps you could give rough estimates based on the info below:

HP m7100y Media Center PC
Windows Vista Ultimate
3.0GHz Pentium 4 HT
3GB RAM
80GB HardDrive
512MB ATI Radeon graphics card (x2 DVI, x1 S-Video, I'm running 2 big LCD displays...which I'm keeping)
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ZS2 Soundcard
TV Tuner Card with HP/Microsoft remote control
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse (HP)
Universal memory card reader in front, with an expansion bay for additional storage

The system works flawlessly. Vista Ultimate is incredible on it, especially with Media Center and dual LCD displays. But I want to upgrade to an Intel Quad-Core computer from Velocity Micro, so I'll sell this one and pay the difference. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I'm not a Big Gamer, But I play a few, and like it to look Good , I play BF 2142, and a few others. A game recently had amazing lighting effects but I had to play it at 800x600 to see them.

I have a PNY NVIDIA 6600 PCI-E 256MB Video Card
AMD A64 3400 + 2.2ghz Processor
1 GB RAM

Again, I know it's not the best, but not the worst, what I want to know is I (I don't have a lot to spend) But if I spend $200 at newegg and get a 7900GS Will it make that much of a difference. How much of the graphics is done in the card and how much is done on the CPU?
