Do I need to use a switch?, If so is there a diagram online?

You can get a KVM switch. KVM = Keyboard, Video, Mouse. You can't get both images on the monitor at the same time, though.

You will need a KVM switch.
Check some online retailers for these. Should be able to get one pretty cheap.
