I had to restore my PC (an HP pavillion). It said that any data files that I created (not sure what these are) would still be intact, but anything I installed into my PC, even updates, would be lost. Well, all of my "data" files are gone, but some programs that I installed were still there. Someone told me that there was a chance that all of my photos were still on my hard drive. If so, how do I try to retrieve them?
Thanks,

I have a 7600GS PCIE and Im going to buy another one to put it in SLI, but I don't have enough money to buy the 7900GT Ive always wanted. I wanted to know should I go for it or should I save up for the single card 7900GT? What also made me ask this question was that two cards in SLI doesn't improve performance at all, it's just the same thing.

I currently have a wireles pc card that I was using with my laptop, but now that my laptop is no longer working, I have no internet access. I have a desktop computer that I can use but wanted to find out if it was possible to use my pc card with the desktop computer instead of canceling my contract with Verizon.

Am I the only person that gets p!ssed off by these new adverts for apples (you know the "I'm a pc", "and I'm a Mac" ones)? The only way they can sell computers it seems to me is to slag off PC's and the software they run on! And yes to all those Apple fanboys out there I typed this on a PC using Internet Explorer!

I am running an eMachines W3503 Desktop with Windows XP Media Edition. I have upgraded the DDR Ram to 2GB so it runs smooth and fast.

I mostly use this PC for Internet browsing but I occasionaly use Adobe Priemiere 3.0 to edit home movies. This software is quite a resource hog but it is outstanding to use.

My question is about my processor. It is an Intel Celeron D Processor 356 with 64-bit Technology with Intel® EM64T
(3.20GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB L2 cache)

What does all this mean? Like 512KB and L2 cache? And what is 3.20GHz mean?

Also...I am NOT using this PC for gaming in any way. Is this processor suited for Internet browsing and Video Editing? It has not let me down yet...but what are your opinons?

This humming that is louder than the regular sound seems to be occurring after the computer has been on for a while, and it sounds literlly like a motor of some sort. If I restart, it sometimes goes away, then comes back later. Sounds like something is just spinning away as I write this, but everything appears to be working fine. If you're like me, noises are a bad sign and there, drive me nuts. Any suggestions? A fan perhaps?

I'm switching jobs and going from a place that exclusively uses PC's to one that exclusively uses Mac's. I've only ever used a PC and the extent of my Mac experience has been with my ipod. Is there a place online that I can go to get some pointers so I don't look like an idot on my first day?
