Our wmchine w 3118 will only connect to the internet at 28.8. The ISP is saying they are not having a problem on there end. I went on Emchine website and there are no modem driver update. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It may be connecting at a higher speed that you think. If it is a 56k modem. If you think its not go buy a new 56k modem, they sell nor about 20 bucks.

Could be a noisy phone line. If you hear any static on the voice side then your connection speed will be lower. Contact the phone company and tell them you hear static - could make a difference. Replace the modem (probably a winmodem type) with one is complete like a Zoom modem. Winmodems, while they work, rely on the processor for power. Complete ones do not and are usually a little faster.
