Hey before you re-install everything and lose your hard drive, try doing a system restore. It will restore it to before you got the virus, and it rolls everything back. Works every time. Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and then choose the 'restore' option. Choose a date from before you noticed the virus. This will only work if you have system restore on and have it set to automatically create restore points occasionally. If you haven't touched the settings, it should be on. Good luck!

EDIT: Can you go back more than a day? You should be able to click on the calendar in restore mode and select a different month. If that doesn't work, would suggest using an antivirus program to scan your computer for viruses. If you don't have one on your computer like Norton Antivirus, just google 'free antivirus' and you will find some free programs. Try looking on downloads.com too, they have a lot of free ones to download. After that, it will remove the problems. Make sure to set a restore point though in the sytem restore. Select 'create restore point' instead of 'restore.' This way, if you have a problem you can restore it to the point you just created. Because I once used a spyware removal program that by mistake deleted a system file, and it almost made me lose everything if I hadn't made a restore point. And one more thing: your computer going slow doesn't necessarily mean you have a virus. Before scanning for viruses I would try doing a few things to clean up your computer first. Having too much junk can really slow it down. First delete all temporary internet files. Open up your explorer and go to tools>internet options>delete>delete temporary internet files. Than you should defragment your hard drive. This really helps. It might take a while though, so best to have it run while doing something else. Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragment, and then click 'defragment.' If your computer is still slow after that, it's probably spyware. Then you should start looking for the spyware software.

those are just pop up ads to make you click on the ad. just ignore those pop ups. if you think you have a virus then AVG is the best and its free.

I have avg and run spyware programs and still get those pop ups when I surf. so I got a pop up blocker and dont get them no more.

ever thought of installing a popup blocker... yahoo, google and norton do one... for free... and for gods sake, dont reformat your PC... if its XP type msconfig at the run prompt and untick EVERYTHING in the startup folder only

you can also go into the control panel (internet options) and select remove offline content... this empties your cookies and other accumulated junk...

again; THIS ISNT A VIRUS... its a popup...
