I currently have a wireles pc card that I was using with my laptop, but now that my laptop is no longer working, I have no internet access. I have a desktop computer that I can use but wanted to find out if it was possible to use my pc card with the desktop computer instead of canceling my contract with Verizon.

Along the lines of these answers, basically if you can see a slot on your desktop that will take that card, then you have a pmcia slot in your desktop (unusual, maybe rare too). If you don't then it would probably cost the same for a pmcia slot vs usb wireless. However the usb route has more portability than the pmcia(laptop slot).

Only if it is a USB wireless card. My laptop has a PC type II wireless card. The slot for PC type II is about 2.5" long. If you have a type II card, then it won't work unless you get an adapter. A USB card has a slot of about 0.75" long. If you have USB than you may need to install some drivers to make it work, but it will still work.

you can buy a pci card that has a pcmia socket on it which will enable you to use the card you have but it is only £20 for a usb wireless card that does same job

You can use your wireless pc card with your PC, but you will most likely have to buy a PCMCIA card reader for your PC. It shouldn't be hard to install, but you might want to have a pro do it for you if you have never added stuff to your pc.

it depends on if your computer has the right slot for it or not. more than likely not since most older desktops don't. call your pc manufacturer to find out for sure. but chances are you will have to cancel. sorry!

hmm..not sure. I know that you can use a USB wireless adapter on a PC. That would definitely work.
