Hmm i'm forced to use a mac every day, every time I try to open a file through an application called filemaker it tells me im out of memory - despite having 4.5Gb of Ram. Every time I open a file in illustrator and the server its on isn't mounted it crashes. Every morning it takes 2 minutes to come out of sleep, nice pretty screensaver, jiggle the mouse that goes away to be replaced by a nice pretty beach ball and then you wait, and wait, and wait, eventually you get a log in box and if the machines permissions are totally screwed your away! Then theres always the fun and games of files being submitted to a server and not appearing to be there - even though they are, thats always particularly helpfull. Even more fun is that becuse mac sales are so poor some software vendors still havent updated to OSX, so you have to run classic - great a dos based os being run over a unix based shell with a gui slapped on it, you wont be surprised to know that the OS9 apps fall over like a 2 year old in a tornado. And as for the 'no virus' claim a close look at sophos anti-virus mentions over 200,000 viri so erm you crapple fanboys have got that one wrong as well. Macs are fine for playing on the internet and dumping music on your shitty iPod - try doing anything heavy on it and its about as reliable as a 20 year old trabant.

All this for 4 and a half grand - yeah thats value alright, but they look good and the people who've bought them have fallen for the 'think different' crap - its a style thing - you know nothing about computers so you get taken in, the people out there that know what they're talking about wouldn't go near them, over-priced, under performing garbage, always have been, always will be, of course the keyboard warrior fanboys will scream hysterically, but us in the know just laugh - its hilarious.

I hope u give me best answer as ive spent a long time writing this answer. now my fingers hurt.

No, you don't have to use a one button mouse. That's one of the biggest myths about the Mac. I'm on a MacBook Pro right now, using a Logitech scroll mouse. You can right click, just like you can on any PC. There's other features as well. For example, I have my middle mouse button set up to invoke Mac OS X's Exposé, which makes it a piece of cake to navigate many open windows. :-) Look, I was a PC user for a long, long time. I wouldn't have purchased three Macs if they weren't better than anything else on the market. If you have specific questions, just send me a message. I'm always glad to educate those interested in the Mac platform.

Don't forget, Macs can run Windows, natively.

Lack of software is also a myth. There's always a Mac equivalent to any Windows program, and it's usually better. Plus, there's tons of open source software, thanks to Mac's UNIX background.

I don't think coldvoiceofreason knows what he's talking about. None of that sounds like the three Macs I use every day. He would like to think that I'm some delusional Mac "fanboy", but the truth of the matter is, I've used every Microsoft system since DOS 6 and Windows 3.0. I've used them both PCs and Macs long enough to know the difference. He also fails to mention what type of server he's trying to save files to. Probably a Windows-based server, in which it wouldn't be at all surprising if files just disappear. Also, he lies, telling you that Mac sales are terrible. Apparently he didn't get the memo about the record Mac sales. What's this about software vendors and OS X? Another lie. Everything has been moved over to Mac OS X. No one uses Classic anymore, in fact, Classic (Mac OS 9) isn't even supported on Intel Macs. Don't fall for his shenanigans. What a joke! :-P

As for Linux, it's like Mac's undeveloped third-world cousin that speaks gibberish.

Personally I wouldnt consider purchasing a mac. Ive been using a pc for years never had a problem with it. Why would you buy a mac and run windows on it, you can do that with a pc for around a third of the price. Pcs can also run other operating systems besides windows. Rant over. Im right Apple fanboys are wrong :)

Macs are just another Apple rip-off. They're expensive, and need replacing every time something new comes out. PC's obviously more flexible, less hassle - my home PC is 5 years old and the only thing I ever had to fix was the router (£14).

mac USE to be pretty good when using powerpc cpus. But now, they are only wanna-be pcs with the same parts (intel cpu for example), no bios chip, and forced to use mac os x (freebsd based - linux). There is no advantage at all. Even Linux on a real computer has more support, drivers and programs that can run on it then linux. just look at most of the software on the market is for windows, not mac.

surely iot depends on what you want it for? MACs are primnarily used for publishing and graphical applications... and now they have cross platform stuff like office...

the guy who said you buy a PC you can only run windows... ar=se and head out of springs to mind... ive a PC, im on it now, and i use LINUX... personally its better than a MAC or pc.. MY os IS FREE. its got 24/7 support and it never crashes... never shows the BSOD... and works straight out of the box... online and running within ten minutes..

i think of macs are very noticeably, however the UI is starting to be slightly previous. abode windows (alongside with google) is plenty extra stepped forward than the apple. I do think of apple's classes are plenty extra polished inspite of the shown fact that.

the mac is a way better machine! i use both on a daily basis. if you really need that 2nd botton on your mouse (which you dont) you can always plug in the pc mouse of your choosing.
