I am looking to buy a gaming computer, but haven't ever done it before. Can you give me a general overview of what exactly I should look for?

I'm looking to run Guild Wars at maximum graphics with a lot of speed to spare, and eventually World of Warcraft when I get back to that.

I am deciding whether I should buy an imac or a Mac Pro. I currently have a labtop but hate it because of the overheating. I just want to make sure I don't have the same problem if I buy an Imac.

I really dont want Vista...there are too many issues with it. A Mac would be a last resort and they are very expensive.

It has one fan on the top, one on the left side (if you are looking at it), and one on the back of it. It has 4 slots for drives. On both sides, it has some sort of X-looking symbol with small air holes above and below it. It has 4 USB ports, two in front and 2 in back. It also has 7 slots for ethernet, etc. It has has 2 slots under the drive area for something that I don't know what goes there. It has 2 slots for memory and is PC100. Upon opening it, there is a fan on the inside, enough room for 4 total hard drives, and the board has "ECS Elite Group" written on a part of it.

Personally, I think it is some sort of gaming comp but would appreciate any and all info on it or where to find some. Please no stupid responses. Thanks!

I'm specifically comparing a
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Windsor 2.4GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - OEM

processor to a

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Toledo 2.4GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - OEM

So what is the difference between the Windsor and the Toledo I am building a gaming computer so if anyone has an opinion of either of these that would be helpful too.

Just recently my computer slowed way down, and the screen(not a LCD or plasma, just a normal Dell screen) started spazing out(not sure how to describe it), but I'd like to know what the problem could be and how I could get rid of it? For free if possible.
Thanks!

Is there anyway to check what viruses I have? If anyone has the time, what happens when you reboot your computer? Thanks.

My friend got this computer for free. When he went to play and burn CD's on his CD writer, it opened it, but it came up with a blank screen, like there is nothing in there. He can eject the drive from the desktop. He has another CD drive that works perfectly fine. What is the problem? It says that the device is working properly. Could it be the driver?

I'm about to buy or should I say build a 64-bit computer, but can't run to buying Windows Vista yet, but I already own a copy of XP SP2 which is 32 Bit, could I load this onto my new 64 bit computer? I suppose I could get a cheap copy of XP 64 from somewhere but I want to avoid this.
