I would like to order straight from the manufacturer. I do not need a monitor, just the box. I know about Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.....Just looking for the best deal.

Go for a Mac! If you have all the stuff, and you're looking for just the "tower," then all you need is Mac Mini. They start at $599 and the "fully loaded" model comes to $1,526.00 including shipping.

Most computers here are cusome built machines with quality parts. Most proprietary computer manufacturers like Dell, Compaq, and Gateway use white lable parts to make a computer more affordable unless you get an expensive high end.

Ever considered Apple?? I know they are normally more expensive but they are just so worth it. They also have refurbished macs to choose from usually for much less.

I think Compaq and E-machine are also good budget companies you could try. I would go with Dell though.
