I am deciding whether I should buy an imac or a Mac Pro. I currently have a labtop but hate it because of the overheating. I just want to make sure I don't have the same problem if I buy an Imac.

Not all laptops overheat. The IBM/Lenovo ones don't have that issue. We have 50 iMAC's and have not had any overheating problems.

Overheat? As in "gets too hot and shuts down"? No.

Gets hot? Sure. All notebooks can get hot, especially when you have a good processor, like the Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. The Core 2 Duo is supposedly cooler than a Core Duo, though. But no, the iMac will not overheat.

I have owned every Imac since it came out and I love them. I leave them on all the time and they never freeze. Good time to buy an Imac is in Spring when Leapord software comes out this year.

I don't know if labtops overheat, but some LAPtops have been know to get real hot. You might want to invest in a good spell checker before you get rid of your current LAPtop. :)
