on my desktop the sound doesnt work?

Question

when ever i try to play a song on windows media player is says "it might be used by another program" i looked at my taskbar and it shows nothin that might use the sound...

also when I games i cant hear the sound either....


i know it isnt my speakers because i already checked it about a zillion times...

i can hear the system sounds like "beep" and stuff but thats pretty much all...

all help apreciated...

I would check to be sure your volume is up on the computer and the speakers. If you have other ones, I would suggest that you try to plug them in and see what happens.
