you need some type of bootable media, such as Windows NT recovery disks, Windows 98 startup disks, or Windows 2000/XP install CD. If using the NT or 98 disk, boot to the DOS prompt and run format c: If using the 2000/XP CD, follow the setup through to the part where it asks you which partition you want to install on. Delete the C partition, then recreate and reformat it.

You're buying a lot of wasted time and energy unless you really really need to do this. So I ask the question "Why do you think you need or want to reformat your computer?

the above is true, also do zdelete, to delete hidden files (some files that can be harmful.)
