I installed Vista first, then XP, but after installing XP the BIOS never gets past verifying DMI Pool Data.

I have my hard drive in 3 seperate partitions, one for vista, one for xp, and one for data :)

Any idea on what I should do? Is there a boot file I need to change somehow with CD utility?

Thanks in advance guys!!!

I realize software and hardware are constantly and rapidly changing, and it's nearly impossible to keep up with. However, aren't there any computers that have better longevity when it comes to hardware and OS software? I not only mean this in the preceding sense but also in the sense of physical durability. As far as I know, the average maximum life of a home PC is approximately 6 years, give or take. It seems to me that Mac might possibly be superior in all these areas, from what I know, but I don't know enough about them to make that judgement.

I'm thinking about replacing my worn out PC and I don't want to invest in something that is going to have a short lifespan. I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars for something that's going to go "phhhhtt" on me in 4-5 years.

Recently I got a warning that my computer is running out of memory and I should delete stuff from my C Drive to free up some memory. Anyway, I come across 2 folders, one called the Temp and the other called the Temporary File.

I was wondering if I can screw anything up in my computer if I delete everything in the "Temp" Folder? Since that folder has alot of memory that could be freed if I delete it.

Also, what is the difference between the "Temp" and "Temporary" folder?
Thanks.

I checked the power cord on both ends to be sure that it was properly connected. I also tried it in a different outlet just to be sure. My bf's computer is right next to mine, and his is working fine. I had left my computer on while I was at work and came home and it was off (no one had been at my house). This has happened a couple times recently, where I come home from work and my computer is off. I'm presuming at this point that it has something to do with the power supply within the computer. What do you guys think?
