This is a good for average user. If you are a gamer go with a more powerful one.

amd sempron = a pentium 4 amd is a very secure processor but 1.8ghz is not that high in a desktop PC if its a laptop you need to double the Ghz 2.6ghz now you need to look at either.

Duo Core or Duo 2 Core intel
Amd 64 Anthon or Amd64 Anthon 64x2 will equal = either the cache are is to small you need at least 1mb or more even 2mb ok if you are looking for memory you must get at least 512mb or 1gb this will be the best options for you ok.

Any new computer you buy these days is good. If you are not sure as to what you need or what you want, get the cheapest computer that you can find. It will far exceed your needs.

90% of americans have more computing ability than they really need. They get talked in to buying these "overkill" machines simply because they are afraid that the computer they buy today will be inadequate for a task that they need to accomplish later on down the road. Save that extra money and buy some good software for the computer and put whatever is left over for repairs in case you PC gets infected with spyware or a virus.

It should be OK if you don't do intensive stuff like movie-making, graphics work, or games, but for general use, i'd say that's OK. Get a windows Vista computer, they're better than th e XP ones. If you can.

it's not as good as a Intel Core 2 Duo, which is the best out there right now.

It depends on how much it costs
& what you want to use it for.

Please add more details to your question.
