i have built a gaming computer and the cpu temp. gets up to 118 deg. is that normal i think i should add another fan

This is the q for you :

What type of CPU are you talking about ?
Different models / types have varied temperature min & max.
Generally ... it is a bit high ... is this in idle mode or after intensive PC use?

All these previous answers are goofy.

Intel Pentium 4 processors can get to 65 degs Celsius.
This is about 149 Fahrenheit.

Your 118 Fahrenheit is about 48 Celsius.

That's all I can tell you - SINCE YOU DON"T SAY WHAT ^$^%#$ PROCESSOR YOU HAVE.

You can go to Intel's or AMD's website and look up the specs for your processor.

My computer on on average runs between 100 and 115 degrees (slightly overclocked). I have had no problems with my computer. However...if you notice anything night than 130 degrees i would recommend putting a better fan on your system as a precaution.

Totally agree with the guy above me, your temp is in the average range and you have nothing to worry about.

if you can do not just install a fan installed a heat sink. If can not installed a fan that will be the best for the CPU

dude, add an additional good cooling system to ur PC, else not only is it dangerous, but your PC performance will also suffer a lot

I'm not really an IT, but I'm guessing yes because that's pretty hot!!! It might start a fire.
